Six people were killed on Monday morning in a terror shooting at Ramot Junction in Jerusalem.

The attack began around 10:15 a.m., when two gunmen arrived in a vehicle and opened fire at a crowded bus stop.

Emergency services reported that, in addition to the fatalities, two people were seriously wounded, four were moderately injured, and more than two dozen others were treated for shock.

The assailants were identified as Mohammed Taha from the village of Qatanna and Moutana Omar from Qoubeiba, north of Mount Adar. They arrived at the scene in a Mercedes minibus before carrying out the attack.
Both were shot and killed at the scene after a combat soldier, assisted by civilians, returned fire. Police later confirmed that weapons, ammunition, and a knife were recovered from the attackers.

Authorities released the names of the six victims: Rabbi Levi Yitzhak Pash, who worked as a maintenance employee at the Kol Torah yeshiva; Rabbi Yosef David, 43, a resident of the Ramot neighborhood; Yaakov Pinto, 25, a newly married immigrant from Spain; Israel Metzner, a Jerusalem resident; Sarah Mendelsohn, 60, the only woman among the victims; and Rabbi Mordechai Steinzag, 79, the owner of the well-known Dr. Mark bakery in Beit Shemesh.

Funerals for the victims were scheduled to take place later in the day. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the scene of the attack alongside the Minister of National Security.

He commended the Orthodox soldier from the “Hashmonaim” brigade who neutralized one of the terrorists and underscored that the struggle against terrorism is part of Israel’s ongoing national battle.
